Finchy’s Update from the Tour - March 2009

Since my last blog we have seen Tiger Woods compete twice, and give us a glimpse of his old brilliance mixed in with a little rust. But no worries, I’m sure it will be knocked off before The Masters in early April.
I thought his swing looked very sound but he had his putting lacked his usual confidence; funny how that’s always the most difficult to find after a long break, even for Tiger – he’s the best putter under pressure....EVER!
The CBS golf team has the month of March off, as NBC picks up the PGA Tour Florida Swing leading into Augusta, when we return for our five month stint on Tour. I can’t wait to return; the Masters is my yearly favourite, where I play the par three event on the Wednesday and a practice round before the Tournament starts...What a great course, and possibly the toughest test all year. I’ll be playing golf and working on my game every day, usually at the Ritz Golf Club in Jupiter or the Fox Club, with an occasional game at Seminole, The Bears Club, Jupiter Hills or the Medalist, and as always, in glorious golfing weather. Last week my friends at Callaway made me up a new set of the forged X irons with the new KBS shafts, and I can really see the difference in ball flight. Thanks Joey, best irons I’ve ever played. I have the same X forged wedges, the new Diablo 3 wood and of course the fantastic new FT9 driver with Fubuki X stiff 63 shaft. No excuses now.....talk to you again soon.
